When on El Hierro be sure to visit the capital city of Valverde. Here yo will be able to appreciate its fine architecture and religious history. The buildings are mainly a crisp white colour due to the hot summer months.

Also on the island you can visit the El Arroyo de Dos Aguas national park. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideal for hill walking, cycling or horse riding. Within the park there is an amazing river junction where the pure waters of the mountain flow directly into the “orange” river that has iron deposits.
