The Golden Gate Bridge, one of San Francisco’s famous attractions, was built in 1937 from Steel and rises up 68m above the San Francisco Bay. Its span is 1290 meters and is painted the bright orange colour due to the dense fog of the bay area; this therefore makes it more visible to passing ships.
