When travelling to the south of the island the 18-30 bracket tend to head for the lively resorts of Playa de las Americas and also Los Cristianos (its adjoining neighbour). Apart form the frantic party nightlife there is plenty to do during the day. You can take a boat trip from the harbour to view the dolphins as the swim next to your boat. You may even catch a glimpse of whales, which are known to swim off shore. You will need to book these trips in advance during peak season as they can become very busy even though there are many operators offering the service

Other water sports along the beach include, deep-sea fishing, banana boat rides, surfing and jet skiing. Around the coast from Los Cristianos towards the south are many beautiful sandy beaches. Be cautious however as some of these beaches are nudist beaches and may offend. The sane itself is dark in colour due to the volcanic nature of the geology. Just a few yards out to see the black volcanic rocks take over so be aware when paddling. Some shores are very steep.

Die to the large expanse of Atlantic out to the west, Tenerife south side is ideal for windsurfing. Along most beaches wind surfers can be seen as the strong winds create large waves for the experts to use.

Partying at night is hard but fun. With numerous bars and clubs drinks are cheap and in abundance. Tenerife party culture can be fun but care must be taken at all times.
